Mold your hearts and chill

Heart Cupcake Pop Shapes

Melt your candy wafers.

Carefully add the stick to the base of the chilled heart.

Dip heart in candy melts that are deep enough to dip in one dip.  Remove excess candy melts and cover heart with sprinkles.

Place candy conversation heart in the center of your heart shaped cake pop. The secret is to cover your heart before the chocolate dries but make sure your chocolate isn't too runny or the sprinkles and chocolate will just drip off.

Enjoy!!!

  7. I've made the cake pops before and I've had 2 problems - the first is that sometimes the chocolate cracks but not on all the cake pops, I don't know what I'm doing wrong. The second problem I have is that some of the cake pops start to have leakage, it almost seems like oil is dripping out of the cake pop. Again, it's not on all the pops, just some of them. I don't know why this would be happening. I use the Wilton chocolate. Please advise. It's so frustrating when I make a batch of 16 cakepops only have of them come out good.

  8. Hi Debbie,

The first problem of cracks is common with all cake pop makers. This happens when the dough is cold and the candy melts are too hot. The drastic change in temp. makes the dough crack. The best solution is to make sure the candy melts are melted but not still hot. The cake pops should be chilled but not frozen. Also after dipping if you stick in refrigerator this will also help.

The second problem of oil dripping is called "cake pop poop" . This is also a common problem. This is when your candy melts aren't covering the cake pop completely. There is a small hole where the oil from the dough can escape. An easy remedy is to wipe off and take a small dab of candy melts and cover up the hole so no more oil can come out.

I also have to say of all candy melts Wilton is my least favorite. Any other brand I feel works better. Finally Paramount Crystals or Crisco will help thin the candy melts if they are too thick.

    Hope this helps.

    Jeanette
